Rocky Shore

This week we went to the rocky shore and learnt about the creatures and there habitat.

Learning Intentions for Science
  • We are learning to understand that all living creatures have a life cycle.

  • We are learning that living creatures have bodies that are designed to help them to live and survive.

  • We are learning that all living things are designed to live in a particular environment.

  • We are learning to understand how food webs work.

  • We are learning that in an ecosystem all living things and their environment are interconnected.

  • We are learning to understand about the Rocky Shore and the impact, both positive and negative, we can have on this environment.
Literacy

As part of our rocky shore unit we will also use our literacy skills to read and learn about the rocky shore and to write an information report on a rocky shore creature.

Writing
We are learning to write an information report about an animal.
We are learning to use our writing skills across the curriculum.

  1. Cool Charlie, I enjoyed reading about your rocky shore trip, especially as I was unable to go. Where has that kelp ball gone to by the way?? Hope it's not stinking out your school bag! Great work picking up rubbish as well, perhaps we should be doing this every time we go to the beach? Mum

  2. Well done for completing your rocky shore recount. It was good to see you using paragraphs and sequencing your work in the right order for a recount. Next time you write a recount, I want you to think about using some more interesting and descriptive language to make it engaging to read. I'm glad you enjoyed this trip. I really loved going and seeing all the creatures and learning about them!
