Thunderstorm

We had to write about a thunderstorm. Here is my work:

WALT use adjectives and similes to describe a setting clearly

Example

Lightning never strikes twice, does it?
That was the question that occupied their frightened minds as they
crouched, huddling together, next the pile of dusty sacks in the base of the windmill…

   PLANNING!

What sounds could you hear during a thunderstorm? Loud noises.
What can you see? Absolutely nothing.  What are your feelings? Happy.
Are you touching anything?  The air. Are there any smells? It smells dusty.
You might be able to think of some onomatopoeia. Boom, crash, wobble.
Could you write a short paragraph describing what it would be like to be caught
in a storm, using some of your ideas from above?

There were loud noises banging on the stony windmill door. I pushed the door ever
so slightly that I could see what was outside. Boom, crash, wobble. It was a huge
thunderstorm!! I saw the windmill starting to turn the wood was breaking. I cried and cried.
It took me ages to build this beautiful thing. The grey stones were falling apart.
The roof fell down. Luckily I didn’t get hit. I whipped outside
and prayed for Zeus to stop this. He didn’t listen. I was pulled up by a tornado. I couldn’t
see the windmill oh wait it was above me. Ha ha ha that is funny. I was being dragged up
to space. I screamed, ahhhhhhhhhhh. There was absolutely no noise it was pitch black.
Zoooom, a spaceship came to rescue me. I climbed on board. It smelt dusty when I was
inside. The lights turned on. I walked over to the pilots seat. Who was driving, no one.
I sat in the pilots seat and wondered how to drive this thing. It shouldn’t be to hard
I thought. I flicked a switch, pulled a lever and… there was the autopilot button. I hit it
and put in some coordinates and flew back to earth. When I was in the sky the ship
ran out of fuel. It couldn’t get worse I thought and then it did. The ship was struck by
lightning and was falling to the ground. I grabbed a parachute and jumped out. When
I landed on the ground It was a sunny beautiful day with no cloud in the sky. I turned
around and saw my windmill in perfect shape. Huh that’s odd I thought.
