Focus

We are continuing to look at descriptive writing. This week you are writing a descriptive piece of writing
to promote your imaginary planet. You aim is to convince people to move to your planet. You want your
writing to allow the reader to be able to imagine what it is like on your planet.

First, we will look at an excerpt of a video describing the moon from the Avatar movie.

Second, we will discuss together what you will need in your work to make it successful and look at
how to plan our work. Then you will plan your work and check with a teacher before you start writing.

Third, do your piece of writing.

Fourth, complete you piece of writing. Remember to proof-read (check spelling and punctuation) and
edit (does it make sense? do you need to change any sentences?) yourself and with a buddy and fill in
your self and peer-assessment. Check it with a teacher.

Then share your work on your blog.

My Writing:

Planet/Asteroid CHROMIUM

There are extremely interesting aliens on Planet/Asteroid
CHROMIUM. They use stone tools to build huts and
villages! They eat Ginormous mushrooms and rats found
in deep bamboo forests.

They are called MIUMS. MIUMS are as slimy as a snail trail!

They have mutant alien kittys!

Planet/Asteroid Chromium is made up of minus
1,000,000,000 degrees mātoke (cold)  water, dirt, sand,
wood and diamond that the aliens can survive in.
The color of Planet/Asteroid Chromium is mainly blue
because it is so cold because it doesn’t have any suns or
moons which means it is an oversized Asteroid!
The Asteroid has 5 rings around it!!! The perimeter of
Planet/Asteroid Chromium is: 1,000 km!

Which is smaller than New Zealand!!!

Planet/Asteroid Chromium is located in another galaxy
called NITELITE. Planet/Asteroid Chromium is in an
asteroid belt in NITELITE.    

Humans Traveled here in a N.A.S.A space shuttle. To get
to CHROMIUM they had to travel through there Asteroid
Belt, Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud. Once they got out of our
galaxy they had to travel into another galaxy and find the
right asteroid (which would take a lot of years)!

Humans came to this planet because they needed ore and
more space to live because Ao (Earth) is to crowded!
You might be wondering how humans survived on this
planet because it is minus 1,000,000,000 degrees cold on
this planet! How humans survived: they had really warm
space suits!
